Sandstorm Schutzhund Club USCA Tracklayer Seminar & Classification with Jim Sullivan

Jim and Quatro earning their FH1(2024) under Vadim Plokster

Jim Sullivan has been in the sport for over 25 years.  He learned a lot of his tracking skills from his tracking mentor, Mark Chaffin.  His first dog Oz was BHOT, received 12 IPO3/SCH3 titles and an FH in her career, and competed at the Nationals.  He has successfully trained 4 dogs to a 3 level, including 4 FH's and 2 FH2.  Jim has failed 5 times in tracking - and freely admits he learns more from the failures than the successes.

Jim has been laying tracks at a both the WDC and German shepherd nationals since 2011 at 25 events and received his track laying book, #3 in 2018.  Since 2018, Jim has recorded 228 tracks, including 182 tracks at a National event.  Jim feels it is very important to lay consistent tracks whether the competition is a National level event or a club trial and recognizes the value in the track laying program in order to promote this consistency, so that everyone has fair and consistent tracks at every level of competition, including club trials.  Jim resides in Alaska and is a founding member of the Alaska GDI club.
